Wedding photography at Bisham Abbey, Buckinghamshire 01 Mar 2010 No Comments
This blog hasn’t been updated in a while - we have been busy moving from a 2 year old house to a 102 period house in Newbury! BT have now connected us to the world and so it’s back to work as usual.
Here are a few of my favourites from Hoi Shen and Ian’s wedding in Bisham Abbey, Buckinghamshire in January. Due to the rain we shoot the entire wedding inside, the house was formally a residence of Henry VIII, so there is plenty of scope for photography. I did manage to persuade Ian to carry Hoi Shen to the cloisters outside for some photographs, ensuring that Hoi Shen’s beautiful Charlotte Balbier dress was not ruined!
The photographs are fantastic
Photography workshop No Comments
Every year I like to invest in some education to keep ahead in a competitive industry! This year I was lucky enough to get a place on the MYVISION workshop. For two days I enjoyed photographing the skilled men at Simply Stained Glass, painstakingly restoring stained glass windows using traditional techniques.
At first this seemed like an easy assignment. I’ve been told I’m strong on detail shots and colour. However constantly producing original images after several hours in a restricted space was quite a challenge, forcing me to find new ways of seeing.
A huge thanks to Peter and George at Simply Stained Glass for trusting me to document their days. Also many thanks to the organisers and team leaders of MYVISION for producing an unforgettable workshop.
Wedding photography at Temple Church and Middle Temple, London 15 Dec 2009 No Comments
Roxanne and Paul wed in Temple Church, where part of The Da Vinci Code was filmed. The architecture is stunning, the reception was in the nearby Middle Temple.
Roxanne was recommended by Jonathan and Liz, whose wedding we photographed last year.
Roxannes dress was particularly impressive, the skirt could be removed, revealing a glamorous cocktail dress for the evening!
I absolutely LOVE the photographs. They are stunning.
Family portrait in Walton upon Thames, Surrey No Comments
Baby Lance’s first portrait at 6 months, he wasn’t feeling his happiest, so it was our job to get lots of smiles. His big brother Luke already had his portrait and Christening last year.
Here are a few of my favourites.
Family portrait in Berkshire 25 Nov 2009 No Comments
A family portrait taken in Donnington Castle, Berkshire, close to where we live. Martyn did this shoot and he enjoyed working with the Vanzyls, a lovely family that drove up from Sevenoaks for the portrait. They wanted a country feel, making the most of the autumnal colours.
Wedding photography at Guards Polo Club, Windsor, Surrey 06 Nov 2009 No Comments
Anna and Steve met in Canada and had a long distance relationship before they both settled in the UK. They married in a beautiful chapel where Anna went to school, St Marys School in Ascot, Berkshire. Martyn was able to photograph the service from the balcony, while I was discreetly at the front, in a corner.
The reception was the Guards Polo Club, Windsor Great, Surrey, an unusual venue and great for documentary coverage. Congratulations to you both.
Wedding photography at Halswell House, Somerset No Comments
Amanda and Chris got married at Halswell House, in Somerset. They booked the venue and ourselves on-line, as they live in Newcastle. They made a great choice, we were very impressed with Halswell House and we’ve worked at a lot of venues! The staff at Halswell made Amanda a gorgeous bouquet of lilies when her flowers arrived late. Amanda used their bouquet on the day.
Haslwell House had lots of scope for wedding photography. We took lots of photographs of Amanda and Chris by the lake and in the house. They don’t usually like being photographed but looked fantastic on the day and enjoyed our long photographic session with them.

Back at Notley Abbey, each time I work at this venue I love it more and more. Jennifer and Morgan choose to get married inside. The room has great light and I have to say the registrars are lovely here.
Morgan and Jennifer met in Dubai and had a long distance for a few years. Morgan said in his speech that he had flown to visit Jenny 62 times! Congratulations to you both.
We worked well with Ines Telling from Vis-à-Video - creative female videographer, I’m confident their wedding DVD will be artistic and a little different.

Wedding photography at Pennyhill Park, Surrey 07 Oct 2009 No Comments
Emma and Will got married at St Peter and Pauls Church, West Clandon church. The reception was at Pennyhill Park in Surrey, one of my favourite venues. I loved Emma’s unusual aqua blue theme, in the morning there were lots of details to photograph; I was in accessory heaven!
We photographed Wills sister’s wedding a few years back during the July floods! Emma and Will were luckier with the weather but we took quite a few couple shots inside, as the venue has stunning architecture.
Here are just a few of my favourites, so many photographs to choose from, it was difficult to pick just a few…

Wedding photography at Tynley Hall, Hampshire 17 Sep 2009 No Comments
We’ve been a bit behind updating the blog as bookings have gone crazy for next year…
Gemma and Tom got married at the stunning Tynley Hall in Hampshire. Gemma wanted some photographs of her sat on wall, I’m not sure I would have suggested that! The Caroline Castigliano dress was fine though… Here a just a few of my favourites.
